  உண்மையான அறிவைப் பெற்ற சிவஞானியர்களுக்கு ஓர் எள்ளின் அளவு தங்கத்தைக் கொடுத்தாலும்,

  Even if one gives Siva-wise men, who have attained true knowledge, gold no bigger than a sesame seed,

  அதனை இறைவனே ஏற்றுக்கொண்டு, அதன் பயனாக முக்தியையும், எண்ணியதை அடையும் சக்தியையும், பேரின்பப் பெருவாழ்விற்கான வழியையும் தந்து அருளுவான்.

  God himself accepts it, and grants in return liberation, the power to attain what is wished, and the way to the great blissful life.

  உலக அறிவை மட்டும் கொண்டு தமக்கு ஞானம் இருப்பதாக எண்ணி ஞானியர் போல வேடம் பூண்டிருக்கும் மூடரிடம் இவ்வுலகின் தங்கம் அனைத்தையும் தானமாகக் கொடுத்தாலும் அதனால் ஒரு பயனும் கிடைக்காது.

  But if one gives away all the gold in this world to fools who, holding only worldly knowledge, believe themselves wise and wear the guise of the wise, not only does no good come of it,

  அந்த வீண் தானத்தின் பயனால் அடுத்த பிறவியிலும் பேரின்பப் பெருவாழ்வு கிடைக்காமல் போய்விடும்.

  but by the fruit of that wasted giving, the great blissful life is lost even in the next birth.
