எட்டுத் திசைகளிலும் வீசும் காற்றும், வட்ட வடிவான இந்த உலகைச் சூழ்ந்திருக்கும் அலை கடல் நீரும், உலகம் தன்னிடமிருந்தும் தன்னைச் சூழ்ந்த வளிமண்டலங்களிலிருந்தும் பெறும் நெருப்பும், அந்த நெருப்பை உள்ளடக்கிப் பரந்து விரிந்திருக்கும் இந்த மாபெரும் நிலமும், உலகைச் சூழ்ந்த வளிமண்டலத்தைத் தாண்டி இருக்கும் ஆகாயமும் ஆகிய பஞ்ச பூதங்களையும் உள்ளடக்கி, ஆன்மாவோடு உயிரைச் சேர்த்து நிலைபெறச் செய்யும் மூச்சுக் காற்றை அடைத்துவைத்த தோற்பையைப் போன்ற இந்த உடலை, அவரவர் வினைக்கு ஏற்ப இறக்கும் காலம் வரும் வரை பாதுகாப்பாகக் கட்டி வைத்தும், காலம் வரும்போது அவிழ்த்து விட்டும் விளையாடுவது, நெற்றிக் கண்ணை உடைய சிவபெருமானின் அருளே.
வினைகள் முடியும் வரை உயிர்களைப் பஞ்ச பூதங்கள் அடங்கிய உடலில் உலகில் பிறக்கச் செய்து, அந்தக் காலம் வரும் வரை அவற்றைப் பாதுகாத்து வந்து, அந்தக் காலம் வந்தபின் அழித்து அடுத்த நிலைக்குச் செல்லும்படி செய்வது அனைத்துமே இறைவனின் திருவருளாகும்.
The wind that blows in all eight directions, the wave-filled sea water that surrounds this round world, the fire the world draws from within itself and from the atmospheres around it, this great, wide land that holds that fire within it, and the sky that lies beyond the atmosphere surrounding the world, all these five elements are contained within this body, a skin bag as it were, sealed with the breath that joins life to the soul and makes it steady. It is the grace of Sivaperuman, who bears the eye on his forehead, that keeps this bag safely tied until the time comes for each to die according to their deeds, and unties it in play when that time comes.
It is entirely by God's own grace that souls are made to be born in the world within a body composed of the five elements until their deeds are finished, are protected until that time comes, and, once that time has arrived, are destroyed and made to move on to the next state.
