உரைmeaning
உண்மை ஞானம் அடைந்த உலக உயிர்களுக்கும் விண்ணுலகத் தேவர்களுக்கும், பேரின்பம் பெறும் வழியை அருளிச் செய்கின்றான், ஆதியிலிருந்தே இருக்கின்ற தலைவனாகிய இறைவன். உண்மை ஞானம் அடையாமல் உலக ஆசையிலேயே இருக்கும் உயிர்கள், தினமும் மாறிமாறி வரும் சூரியனின் ஒளியையும், அதைத் தன்னுள் வாங்கிக் கொடுக்கும் நிலாவின் ஒளியையும், வெப்பமான தீயின் ஒளியையும், இந்த மூன்று வகை ஒளிகளும் இல்லாதபோது இருக்கும் இருளையும் உணர்வால் அறிந்திருக்கின்றன. ஆனால் உணர்வால் அறியவே முடியாத மாயை என்னும் இருளைக் கொண்ட உள்ளம் என்னும் இருட்டறையிலேயே இறைவன் வீற்றிருக்கின்றான்.
உண்மை ஞானம் பெற்ற உலக உயிர்களுக்கும் விண்ணுலக உயிர்களுக்கும் பேரின்பம் கொடுக்கும் இறைவன், உண்மை ஞானம் பெறாத உயிர்களுக்கு மாயை என்னும் இருட்டையே கொடுக்கின்றான்.
God, the lord who has existed from the beginning, grants to the discerning souls of this world who have gained true wisdom, and to the gods of the heavens, the way to attain supreme bliss. Souls who have not gained true wisdom and remain in worldly desire know, through their senses, the light of the sun that comes and goes daily, the light of the moon that takes in and gives back that same light, the light that comes from hot fire, and the darkness that is present when these three kinds of light are all absent. But God dwells within the chamber of darkness that is the heart holding the darkness called maya, which the senses can never come to know.
God, who grants supreme bliss to the souls of this world and of the heavens who have gained true wisdom, gives to souls who have not gained true wisdom only the darkness called maya.
