இறைவனின் அருள் வேண்டி வேள்விகள் அமைத்துத் தம்மை வணங்கும் நல்லவர்கள் அனைவரும் அனைத்துவித நலன்களும் பெற்று வாழ, தயைகூர்ந்து அருள்புரியுமாறு பலகோடி தேவர்கள் அனைவரும் இறைவனை வேண்டிக்கொள்ள, யாராலும் அழிக்க முடியாத அசுரர்களையும் அவர்களின் முப்புரங்களையும் வில்லேந்தி அம்புகொண்டு எரித்த எம்பெருமான், கருணைகொண்டு, உயிர்களை வாட்டும் பல கொடிய அசுரர்களையும் அழிக்கும் வலிமையை அவர்களுக்கு வழங்கி அருளினான்.
உயிர்கள் எந்தச் செயலைச் செய்தாலும், மனம், வாக்கு, உடம்பு ஆகிய மூன்றையும் ஒன்றாக வைத்து இறைவனை மட்டுமே நினைத்து, அவனது திருவருளைக் கொடுக்குமாறு வேண்டிக்கொண்டு, இறையருள் பெற்றுச் செய்தால், அச்செயலுக்குத் தடையாக இருப்பவற்றை அழிக்கும் சக்தியை இறைவன் அந்த உயிர்களுக்கு அருளுவான்.
When countless devas pleaded with the Lord that all good people who set up sacrifices and worship him, seeking his grace, might live blessed with every good thing, the Lord, who with bow and arrow had burned the asuras that none could destroy and their three cities, in his compassion granted them too the strength to destroy the many cruel asuras that afflict living beings.
Whatever act souls perform, if they hold mind, speech and body as one, think of the Lord alone, pray for his grace, and act having received it, the Lord grants them the power to destroy whatever stands in the way of that act.
