உரைmeaning
இறைவனுக்காக மந்திரங்களை செபித்து இறையருள் பெற்றிருந்த தேவர்கள், தக்கனின் யாகத்தில் இறையருள் இல்லாத மந்திரங்களைச் சொல்லி, தமக்குப் பெரும் பொருள் கிடைக்க வேண்டும் என்னும் நோக்கத்திலேயே குறியாக இருந்தனர். இறையருள் பெறாமல் அவர்கள் செய்து குவித்த அந்த மந்திரங்களே, அவர்களையே கொல்லும் கொடிய மந்திரங்களாக மாறிவிட்டன.
உயிர்கள் வேள்வி போல் செய்யும் செயல்கள் யாவும் இறையருளுடன் செய்தால் அவற்றை நல்வழிக்கு அழைத்துச் செல்லும்; உலக ஆசைக்காக இறையருள் இல்லாமல் செய்யும் செயல்கள் யாவும் அவர்களுக்குத் தீமைகளையே செய்யும்.
Devas who had received the Lord's grace through the mantras they chanted to him instead recited, in Daksha's sacrifice, mantras without the Lord's grace, fixed only on the aim of gaining great wealth for themselves. Because those mantras, heaped up without receiving his grace, were performed so, they turned into cruel mantras that killed the very ones who chanted them.
Whatever acts souls perform as if they were a sacrifice, if done with the Lord's grace, will lead them along the good path; whatever acts are done without his grace, out of worldly desire, will only bring them harm.
