உள்ளுண்மை ஓரார் உணரார் பசுபாசம்வள்ளன்மை நாதன் அருளினின் வாழ்வுறார்தெள்ளுண்மை ஞானச் சிவயோகம் சேர்வுறார்கள்ளுண்ணும் மாந்தர் கருத்துஅறி யாரே.
உரைmeaning
புத்தியை மயக்கும் மதுவை அருந்தி அதில் மயங்கிக் கிடப்பவர்கள், இறைவனை அடையும் வழிகளைச் சொல்லும் வேதங்களின் கருத்தை அறிய மாட்டார்கள். பதி, பசு, பாசம் என்பவற்றில் உள்ள உட்பொருளை அவர்கள் உணர்வதில்லை. உயிர்களுக்குப் பெருங்கருணையோடு அருளை வாரி வழங்கும் வள்ளலாகிய இறைவனின் அருள் பெற்று வாழும் பேரானந்த வாழ்க்கையை அவர்கள் விரும்ப மாட்டார்கள்; அறிவிற்குத் தெளிவைக் கொடுக்கும், உண்மையான ஞானத்தைத் தரும் சிவயோகம் செய்பவர்களுடன் சேரவும் மாட்டார்கள், தாமும் சிவயோகம் செய்ய மாட்டார்கள். மதுவை அருந்துபவர்கள் உண்மைக் கருத்துக்கள் எதையும் அறிந்துகொள்ளும் தகுதி இல்லாதவர்கள் ஆகின்றனர்.
பேரொளியாக இருக்கும் பதி என்னும் இறைவனிடமிருந்து வந்த ஆத்மா தான் பசு. இந்தப் பசு மீண்டும் பதியாகிய இறைவனிடம் சென்று சேர்ந்து பிறவி இல்லா முக்தி அடைய வேண்டும். ஆனால், பதியிடம் இந்தப் பசு சென்று சேரவிடாமல் தடுப்பது பாசம் என்னும் கயிறு. சிவயோகம் செய்து உண்மை ஞானத்தை அடைந்தால், பாசம் என்னும் கயிற்றை அறுத்துப் பதியிடம் சென்று சேர்ந்துவிடலாம். இந்த உண்மை ஞானத்தை அறிந்துகொள்ளும் அறிவை மது அழித்துவிடும்.
Those who drink the liquor that clouds the intellect and lie clouded in it will not know the meaning of the Vedas, which declare the ways of reaching God. They do not realise the inner sense contained in pathi, pasu and pasam. They will not desire the life of great bliss lived by receiving the grace of God, the bountiful one who pours out his grace upon souls with vast compassion; nor will they join the company of those who practise Sivayogam, which gives clarity to the understanding and grants true wisdom, and neither will they practise Sivayogam themselves. Those who drink liquor become people with no fitness to grasp any true idea at all.
The soul that came from God, the pathi who exists as the great light, is itself the pasu. This pasu must go once more to God the pathi, join him, and attain the liberation in which there is no further birth. But what holds this pasu back and stops it going to the pathi is the rope called pasam. If one practises Sivayogam and attains true wisdom, one may cut the rope called pasam and go and join the pathi. And it is exactly this understanding, by which true wisdom is grasped, that liquor destroys.
