காமமும் போதை தரும் மதுவும் கீழ்த்தரமான மனிதர்களுக்கே உரியது. மதுவினால் மிகப்பெரிய அழுக்காகிய ஆணவம் அதிகரிக்கும். ஆணவம் மிகுந்தால், நம்மையே உணர முடியாத அளவுக்கு அறிவு எல்லா நேரத்திலும் மயங்கிக் கிடக்கும். நாளடைவில் அறிவு அழிந்தே போகும். எப்போதும் பேரானந்த உணர்வைத் தரும் இறைவனின் திருவடிகள் போலவே பேரானந்தத்தைத் தரும் அமிர்தத்தைப் பெற்று அருந்துவது, மேன்மையான மனிதர்கள் செய்யும் செயலாகும்.
Lust, and the liquor that brings intoxication, belong only to base people. Through liquor, anavam, which is the greatest taint of all, increases. When anavam grows, the understanding lies clouded at every hour, to the point where one cannot even know oneself. As the days pass, the understanding is destroyed altogether. To obtain and drink the nectar that gives the great bliss, just as the holy feet of God give the awareness of that bliss at all times, is the act of noble people.
