  அற நூல்களையும் வேதங்களையும் கற்றுச் சிவஞானத்தை அடைய வேண்டும் என்ற எண்ணம் இல்லாத தீய குணமுடையவர்கள்,

  Those of evil nature who have no intention of learning the books of righteousness and the Vedas and attaining Sivagnanam,

  தமது ஐம்புலன்கள் வழியாக வரும் ஆசைகளையும் உலக வாழ்க்கையையும் பற்றிக்கொண்டு, ஆணவம், கன்மம், மாயை ஆகிய மும்மலங்களால் வரும் மாசையும் அகற்றாத மூடர்கள்;

  who instead hold fast to the desires that come by way of their five senses and to worldly life, and who are fools that never remove the taint arising from the three malas, anavam, kanmam and mayai;

  மேலும், பல திசைகளிலும் உள்ள, கற்றறிந்து உண்மை ஞானம் அடைந்தவர்களை உணரும் அறிவில்லாதவர்கள்; இவர்கள் இறைவனை அடையும் வழி தெரியாதவர்களே.

  and those who have not the wit to recognise, in the many directions where they are found, the people who have learned and attained true wisdom: these are the ones who do not know the way to reach God.

  அற நூல்களையும் வேதங்களையும் கற்று, அதன் வழியில் இறைவனின் மேல் அன்போடு இருப்பவர்களே இறைவனை அடையும் வழி தெரிந்தவர்கள்.

  It is those who learn the books of righteousness and the Vedas, and who by that path stand in love towards God, who know the way to reach him.
