கணக்கறிந் தார்க்கன்றிக் காணஒண் ணாதுகணக்கறிந் தார்க்கன்றிக் கைகூடாக் காட்சிகணக்கறிந் துண்மையைக் கண்டண்ட நிற்கும்கணக்கறிந் தார்கல்வி கற்றறிந் தாரே.
உரைmeaning
இறைவனை அடையும் வழிகளை நன்றாக அறிந்து அதனைச் செயல்படுத்துபவர்களைத் தவிர வேறு யாருக்கும் இறைவனது திருக்காட்சியைக் காண முடியாது, உணர முடியாது. இறைவனை அடையும் வழிகளை நன்றாக அறிந்து அதனைச் செயல்படுத்தி, இறைவனது திருக்காட்சியைப் பார்த்து உணர்ந்தவர்களே உண்மை ஞானத்தைக் கற்று அறிந்தவர்கள் ஆவார்கள்.
கணக்கு அறிந்தவர்கள் என்றால், கணக்கை இப்படிப் போட்டால் பதில் கிடைத்துவிடும் என்று எண்ணுபவர்கள் மட்டும் அல்ல; அந்தக் கணக்கை எழுதிச் சரியான பதிலைத் தருபவர்களே கணக்கை அறிந்தவர்கள் ஆவார்கள். அது போலவே, இறைவனை அடையும் வழிகளைத் தெரிந்தவர்கள் மட்டும் ஞானம் அடைந்தவர்கள் அல்ல; அந்த வழிகளைப் பயன்படுத்தி இறைவனைக் கண்டு உணர்ந்தவர்களே ஞானம் அடைந்தவர்கள் ஆவார்கள்.
No one can see or realise the holy vision of God except those who have thoroughly learned the ways of reaching him and who put those ways into practice. Those who have thoroughly learned the ways of reaching God, put them into practice, and so beheld and realised his holy vision, are the ones who have learned and known true wisdom.
To know the reckoning does not mean merely to be one who thinks that setting the sum down this way will produce the answer; it is those who actually work the sum out and give the correct answer who truly know the reckoning. In the same way, those who merely know the ways of reaching God are not the ones who have attained wisdom; it is those who use those ways and see and realise God who have attained wisdom.
