Just as small children build a house in sand, cook rice out of clay, and pretend it is real rice and eat it with delight, so too, it is nothing but falsehood to enjoy pleasure through unreal worldly desires and think that God's grace will thereby be attained. There exists a God who cannot be shown by any sign as being of such a nature, to be approached in such a way. Those who walk through life along the path of worldly pleasures, without even the wisdom of questioning that says one must come to know him, will never come to know God, and will never come to know themselves either.
