  பாவங்கள் இவை எனக் கூறும் நீதிநூல்கள் கூறுவதைக் கேட்டும், தேவர்களின் வழிபாட்டில் கூறிய மந்திரங்களைக் கேட்டும்,

  by listening to what the treatises on morality say about which acts are sins, by listening to the mantras spoken in the worship of the gods,
