Time runs on without pause. Ages run into ages, and are destroyed in turn within the great cosmic dissolution. The castles the soul builds in its own imagination, and the days it lives to enjoy them, keep shrinking day by day, until at last this body, which brings only great sorrow, ages and shrivels like pulp that has been squeezed dry, and one day is destroyed altogether. Even though they witness all this with their own eyes every day, many souls, not knowing that their own life will likewise be destroyed, live out their days without ever learning the charitable acts of dharma they ought to perform, and are destroyed having lived in vain.
