  மும்மலங்களாகிய அழுக்குகளை நீக்கும் மெய்ஞ்ஞானத்தை அறிந்தும், அந்த அறிவால் உள்ளத்தை இறைவனால் நிரப்பாமல் இருக்கின்றீர்கள்.

  Even though you know the true wisdom that drives off the filth of the three malams, you have not filled your heart with God through that wisdom.

  கல்வியும் செல்வமும் நிறைந்திருந்த நாட்களிலேயே அறங்கள் செய்யாமல் விட்டுவிட்டீர்கள்.

  In the very days when learning and wealth were abundant, you left dharma undone.

  நாள்தோறும் எழுந்து கண் விழித்திருப்பதனால் மட்டும் என்ன பயன்? ஒருநாள் கண் மூடிய பின் சுடுகாட்டுக்கு எடுத்துச் செல்லப்பட்டு, தீ மூட்டப்பட்டு, உடல் முழுவதும் அதன் வெப்பம் பரவி எரிக்கும் அந்த நேரத்தில் என்ன செய்வீர்கள்?

  What use is it merely to rise and keep your eyes open day after day? One day your eyes will close, and you will be carried to the cremation ground and set alight, and as the heat of that fire spreads through your whole body and burns it, what will you do then?

  வாழ்நாள் முழுவதும் அறம் செய்யும் பரந்த மனம் இல்லாமல் ஏழை நெஞ்சமாகவே வாழ்ந்துவிட்டீர்கள்.

  Without the broad heart that does dharma through the whole of life, you have lived as a poor, narrow heart.
