  உலகப் பற்றுக்களை விட்டு நீங்கிய ஞானிகளின் பசியை ஆற்றும்படி உணவு அளித்தலே மிகச் சிறந்த அறமாகும்.

  Feeding those jnanis who have let go of worldly attachments, so that their hunger is stilled, is the finest dharma.

  இவ்வாறு பல அறங்களை ஆசிரியரிடம் கற்றுக்கொண்டும், எந்த தானமும் செய்யாமல் தமக்கு அறிவும் ஞானமும் உண்டு என்று கூறிக்கொள்ளும் மனிதர்கள்,

  People who have learned many such acts of dharma from a teacher, but who give no charity themselves and merely claim to possess wisdom and knowledge,

  கிணற்றடியிலும் குளக்கரையிலும் பற்றுகளை அறுத்த ஞானிகள் பசியோடு இருக்கிறார்களா என்று தேடிப் பார்த்து,

  would seek out, near wells and by pond-banks, the jnanis who have cut off their attachments and are hungry,

  அவர்களைத் தம் வீட்டிற்கு அழைத்து வந்து உண்ணச் செய்வதால் தமக்குக் கிடைக்கும் பெரும் பயனை அறியாமலே இருக்கின்றனர்.

  and bring them home to eat, remain unaware of the great merit that would come to them.
