Give food to help everyone, without making any distinction between one and another, between those you favour and those you do not, between kin and stranger. Before you eat, look to see whether anyone hungry is coming, and only then eat. Do not hoard old food you have kept uneaten as savings; give it at once to whoever is hungry. Do not hold excessive craving for food, and do not eat hastily and hurriedly even when you are hungry. Know that the crow, even while it is itself hungry, calls out and waits until other crows have gathered, and only then eats together with them; you too must give food to another before you eat.
