  ஒரு நாட்டின் அரசன் அந்த நாடு முழுவதிலும் தினந்தோறும் தவ வழியில் வாழ்பவர்களுக்கு எத்தகைய துன்பமும் வராமல் காத்துக்கொள்ள வேண்டும்.

  The king of a land must, every single day, watch over and protect throughout his land those who live the way of penance, so that no suffering comes to them.

  அரசனுக்கென விதிக்கப்பட்ட நீதியிலும் தர்மத்திலும் சிறிதும் பிழையாமல் தினந்தோறும் நடந்துகொள்ள வேண்டும். இதைத் தவறினால் அந்நாடு தினந்தோறும் அழிவை நோக்கிச் செல்லும்.

  He must live, without the least fault, day after day, by the justice and righteousness laid down for a king. If he fails here, the land moves day by day toward ruin.

  இதில் எதைத் தவறினாலும் அவனுடைய நாட்டின் வளம் குன்றும்; மக்களிடையே அறியாமை தோன்றும்.

  Whatever he fails in here, his land's prosperity will decline, and ignorance will rise among the people.

  அந்த நாட்டின் செல்வங்கள் நாள்தோறும் குறைந்துகொண்டே வந்து அரசனும் விரைவில் மடிந்துபோவான்.

  The land's wealth will keep dwindling day by day, and the king himself will perish before long.
