சத்தியத்தின் வழி நடவாமலும், தன்னை உணரும் ஞானம் இல்லாமலும், உடலோடு பிறந்த இந்திரியங்களின் வழி வரும் ஆசைகளை விட்டு விலகாமலும், உண்மையான மெய்ஞான உணர்வு இல்லாமலும், இறைவன் மேல் பக்தி இல்லாமலும், உண்மைப் பொருள் இறைவன் ஒருவனே என்பதை உணராமலும், நிலையில்லாத உடலின் மேல் கொண்ட ஆசையினால் இந்திரியங்கள் வழியே வாழும் மூடர்கள், தம்மைப் பிராமணர் என்று கூறிக்கொள்ளத் தகுதியற்றவர்கள் ஆவார்கள்.
Those who do not walk the way of truth, who lack the wisdom to know themselves, who do not turn away from the desires that come through the senses born with the body, who lack true awareness of the highest knowledge, who have no devotion to God, who do not realise that God alone is the true reality, and who, out of craving for this impermanent body, live merely following their senses: such fools have no right to call themselves brahmins.
