உரைmeaning
யாகத்தில் தோன்றும் நெருப்பின் தலைவன், அரும்பெரும் தவத்துக்கு உரியவனான இறைவனே. யாகம் வளர்க்கும் முறைகளை வேதங்களில் வழங்கியவனும், அம்முறைகளைப் பலவித ஆகமங்களாக வகைப்படுத்தி அருளியவனும் அவனே. இறைவன் வழங்கிய வேதங்களையும் ஆகமங்களையும் தவறாது செயல்படுத்தி, உலகில் எங்கு சென்றாலும் அங்கு முறைப்படி யாகத்தை வளர்த்து, அதன்மூலம் அங்கிருக்கும் உயிர்களுக்கு இறைவனின் அருளைக் கொண்டுவருபவன் அந்தணன். ஆகவே, அவன் உடலளவில் சிறிது துன்பப்பட்டாலும், அத்துன்பத்திலிருந்து இளைப்பாறிப் பெருமளவு இன்பம் பெறும்படி இறைவன் அவனுக்கு வழங்குவதே மாபெரும் புகழாகும்.
The lord of the fire that arises in the yagna is God himself, to whom the greatest of penances belong. It is he who gave, in the Vedas, the methods of tending the yagna, and who graciously arranged those methods into the various Agamas. A brahmin is one who, applying without fail the Vedas and Agamas that God gave, tends the yagna correctly wherever in the world he goes, and through it brings God's grace to the beings living there. And so, even though he suffers a little in body, that God grants him, having rested from that suffering, great and abundant joy, and this itself is a mighty glory.
