ஹோமத்தில் வளர்க்கும் தீயின் உள்ளிருந்து எழும்பும் ஜோதியானவன் நமது இறைவன் சதாசிவமூர்த்தியே. இறந்த உடல்களைத் தகனம் செய்யும்போது அங்கு நெருப்பாக இருந்து உடலை எரிப்பவனும் அவனே; அந்த உடலின் ஆன்மாவை வானுலகுக்குத் தாங்கி எடுத்துச் செல்பவனும் அவனே. உடல் பிறக்கும்போதே உயிரோடு சேர்ந்து பிறக்கும் கடல்போன்ற வினைகளை, ஹோமத் தீயினுள் இருந்து சத்தத்துடன் எரியும் நெருப்பாக சுட்டெரிப்பவனும் அவனே.
The flame that rises from within the fire tended in the homa is our own God, Sadasivamurthy. It is he who, when dead bodies are cremated, is present there as the fire and burns the body; and it is he who carries the soul of that body up to the heavens. The ocean-like karma that is born together with the soul at the very birth of the body, it is he, as the roaring fire within the homa flame, who burns that karma away.
