அறுத்தன ஆறினும் ஆனினம் மேவிஅறுத்தனர் ஐவரும் எண்ணிலி துன்பம்ஒறுத்தன வல்வினை ஒன்றல்ல வாழ்வைவெறுத்தனன் ஈசனை வேண்டிநின் றானே.
உரைmeaning
உயிர்கள், கண் - பார்த்தல், காது - கேட்டல், மூக்கு - நுகர்தல், வாய் - சுவைத்தல், மெய் - தொடுதல்/உணர்தல் ஆகிய ஐந்து இந்திரியங்களின் துணையால் உணவு உண்டவுடன் பசி தீர்ந்துவிடினும், அதே இந்திரியங்களே ஆன்மாவுக்கும் இறைவனுக்கும் உள்ள தொடர்பையும் அறுத்துவிடுகின்றன. ஆகவே உயிர் எடுக்கும் பிறவியில் எண்ணிலடங்காத துன்பங்களைப் பெற்று வருந்துகிறது. மேலும் ஜென்ம வினை, கர்ம வினை, எண்ண வினை, பந்தம், பாசம், பற்று, செல்வம் என்னும் பல காரணங்களாலும் துன்பம் அடைகிறது. துன்பத்தின் இறுதியில், இனி இத்தகைய பிறவியே வேண்டாம் என்று வெறுக்கும் உயிர், பிறவியில்லாத நிலை வேண்டி ஈசனிடம் நிற்கின்றது.
Though the hunger of living beings is satisfied the moment they eat, with the help of the five senses, the eye for seeing, the ear for hearing, the nose for smelling, the tongue for tasting, and the body for touching and feeling, those very same senses are what sever the connection between the soul and God. Because of this, the soul suffers countless sorrows in the birth it takes. It also suffers for many further reasons: karma of birth, karma of action, karma of thought, bondage, attachment, clinging, and wealth. At the end of that suffering, the soul, now weary of ever taking such a birth again, stands before Isan, seeking the state where there is no more birth.
