கல்லால் ஆன குழியை மூட தங்கக் கட்டிகளைத் தேடுவது போல, தினமும் ஏற்படும் பசிக்காகப் பலவித செல்வங்களைத் தேடுகின்றன உயிர்கள். கல்லால் ஆன குழியைத் தங்கத்தால் நிரப்ப முடியாதது போலவே, வயிற்றுப் பசியையும் எத்தனை வகையான செல்வம் சேர்த்தாலும் நிரந்தரமாகத் தீர்த்துவிட முடியாது; இதை அறிவது யாவர்க்கும் அரிது. நிரந்தரமாகப் பசியைத் தீர்ப்பது எப்படி என்னும் அறிவை அறிந்துகொள்ளுங்கள். அந்த அறிவைத் தெரிந்துகொண்டுவிட்டால், இனி எப்போதும் பசி வாராதவாறு ஆன்மாவின் அனைத்து அழுக்குகளும் நீங்கி, பிறவியில்லாப் பெருவாழ்வு கிடைத்துவிடும்.
Just as one might search for lumps of gold to fill a pit dug in stone, living beings search for every kind of wealth to satisfy the hunger that comes daily. Just as a stone pit cannot be filled with gold, so too the hunger of the belly cannot be permanently ended no matter how much wealth of any kind is gathered, and this is a truth rare for anyone to grasp. Know the knowledge of how hunger can be ended permanently. Once that knowledge is known, all the impurities of the soul depart, so that hunger never arises again, and the great life free of further birth is attained.
