தினந்தோறும் காலையில் எழுகின்ற உயிர்கள், மாலையில் உறங்கச் செல்லும் வரை பலவித செயல்கள் செய்து தங்கள் வாழ்நாட்களை வீணாகக் கழிக்கின்றனர். அவ்வாறு வீணாக வாழ்க்கை கழிந்தபின் உயிர்களை அழிக்கும் ஈசுவரன் கோபம் கொண்ட உருத்திரனைப் போலத் தெரிந்தாலும், தம் அறிவு முதிர்ச்சிக்கு ஏற்ப அவனை அன்போடு நினைத்து வாழும் உயிர்களுக்கோ அவனே பேரின்பத்தை வழங்கி அருளுவான்.
தினந்தோறும் பல காரியங்கள் செய்து வெட்டியாக வாழ்க்கையைக் கழித்துவிட்டு, இறக்கும்போது இறைவனைக் கண்டு அவன் கோபத்தோடு அழிப்பவன் என்று பயப்படத் தேவையில்லை; உயிரோடு இருக்கும்போதே இறைவனின் பெருங்கருணையைப் புரிந்துகொண்டு அவனை அன்போடு நினைத்து வழிபட்டு வந்தால், இறக்கும்போதும் அவன் பேரின்பத்தையே அளித்தருள்வான்.
Living beings who rise every morning spend their days performing all kinds of deeds, right up until evening when they go to sleep, thereby wasting away their lifespan. Even though Isvaran, who destroys living beings once their life has been wasted away like this, appears as an angry Rudra, to those living beings who, according to the maturity of their own understanding, think of him with love and live by it, he himself grants supreme bliss.
There is no need, having spent one's life on trivial pursuits day after day, to fear at death that God will appear in anger and destroy you; if, while still alive, you understand God's great compassion, think of him with love and worship him, then even at death he will grant you nothing but supreme bliss.
