உரைmeaning
உயிர்கள் பிறந்து வளர வளர உடலும் தேய்ந்து, இளமை மாறி முதுமை வந்து, ஒரு நாள் இறந்தும் போகின்ற இயற்கையின் விதியை ஆராய்ந்து அறிந்துகொள்ளுங்கள். எரிகின்ற தீபச்சுடரை எத்தனை காலம் தூண்டுகோலால் திரிநூலை நீட்டி நீட்டி எரியவைத்தாலும், திரிநூல் தீர்ந்தபின் விளக்கு அணைந்துபோகும் என்கிற உண்மையை யாரும் அறியாமல் இருக்கின்றனர். திரி போன்ற உடலின் உள்ளே தீபம் போல் இருக்கும் உயிர் பிறந்து வளர வளர, எரியும் தீபத்தின் திரிநூல் தீர்ந்துவிடுவதுபோல, உடலும் இளமை மாறி முதுமை கூடி ஒருநாள் அழிந்துபோய்விடும்.
உடல் என்றும் இளமையுடன் இருக்காது என்ற உண்மையை உணர்ந்து, உயிர் பிரிந்துபோவதற்குள் இருக்கும் காலத்திலேயே என்றும் நிலைத்திருக்கும் இறைவனைத் தமக்குள் உணர்ந்து, அவனுடன் பேரின்பத்தில் இணைந்து எப்போதும் நிலைத்திருக்க முயற்சி செய்ய வேண்டும்.
Even after living beings are born and spend many years in this world, no one takes hold of God and enters and realizes him within their own soul. However long one keeps a burning lamp's flame alive by drawing out the wick with a rod, no one realizes the truth that once the wick is spent the lamp will go out. The soul, which sits within the wick-like body as a flame sits within a lamp, grows as the body grows, and just as a burning lamp's wick eventually runs out, the body too passes from youth into old age and one day perishes.
Realize the truth that the body will never remain young forever, and within the time left before the soul departs, realize the ever-stable God within yourself, unite with him in supreme bliss, and strive to remain so forever.
