  நம்முடன் வரும் நிழல்கூட நமக்கு உதவாது என்பதைத் தெளிவாகக் கண்டபின்னும்,

  Even after clearly seeing that our own shadow, which follows us everywhere, is of no help to us,

  கஷ்டப்பட்டுச் சேர்த்த செல்வங்கள் என்றும் நமக்கு உதவும் என்று நினைத்திருப்பவர்கள் ஏமாளிகளே.

  those who believe that the wealth they toiled to gather will always help them are mere fools.

  நம் உடலோடு ஒன்றாகப் பிறந்த உயிர்கூட நம்மோடு என்றும் நிலைத்திராமல் ஒருநாள் போய்விடும்.

  Even the life within us, born together with this body, will not remain with us forever and will one day depart.

  இப்படி நிலையில்லாத எதன்மேலும் மனத்தை வைக்காமல், நமக்குள்ளேயே மனத்தைச் செலுத்தி, அங்கே ஒளிர்ந்துகொண்டிருக்கும் இறைவனின் திருஒளியை அகக் கண்ணால் கண்டு, என்றும் நிலையானவனான இறைவனை உணர்ந்துகொள்ளுங்கள்.

  So set your mind on nothing that is impermanent in this way; instead, turn your mind within yourself, behold with the inner eye the sacred light of God shining there, and realize the God who alone is eternally stable.
