  நாட்டுக்கு நன்மை செய்யும் அரசனுடைய ஆதிக்கத்தில் இருக்கும் யானைப் படைகளும், தேர்களும், அவன் ஈட்டிய பெருஞ் செல்வங்களும்,

  The forces of elephants and the chariots under the authority of a king who does good for his land, and the great wealth he amassed,

  பின்னொரு நாளில் அவனை வெற்றி கொள்ளும் வேறொருவருக்குச் சொந்தமாகிவிடும்; யாருடைய செல்வமாக இருந்தாலும் ஒரு நாள் மற்றவர்கள் அதை எடுத்துச் செல்வார்கள்.

  will one day belong to another who conquers him; whosever the wealth may be, one day others will carry it away.

  அப்படி வேறொருவர் எடுத்துக்கொள்ளும் முன்னரே, உலகச் செல்வங்களுக்கெல்லாம் தலைவனான இறைவனைப் பற்றித் தெரிந்துகொண்டு, தெளிவு பெற்று உணர்ந்து, அவனுடைய திருவடியைச் சென்று சேர்ந்துவிட வேண்டும்.

  Before another takes it, one should come to know the God who is lord of all the world's wealth, gain clarity and realize him, and go and reach his sacred feet.

  அப்படிச் சேர்ந்துவிட்டால், அதன்பிறகு இவ்வளவு கடினமா என்று உயிர்கள் அஞ்சும் அளவிற்கு இருக்கும் மாபெரும் தவங்கள் எதுவும் தேவையில்லை.

  If one reaches him so, then afterwards there is no need at all for the great austerities that make souls shrink and ask whether it must be so hard.
