  ஆன்மாக்களின் தலைவன் இறைவனே பதி; ஆன்மாவாகிய உயிர் பசு; உயிர்களைப் பிடித்திருக்கும் ஆணவம், கன்மம், மாயை ஆகிய மும்மலங்களே பாசம்.

  God, the lord of souls, is Pati. The soul that is the living being is Pasu. The three impurities that hold souls captive, egoism, karma and maya, are Pasam.

  இம்மூன்றையும் பார்த்தால், என்றும் நிலைத்து நிற்கும் பழமைவாய்ந்த இறைவனைப் போலவே ஆன்மாக்களும், அவற்றைப் பிடித்திருக்கும் மும்மலங்களும் நித்தியமானவையே.

  As for these three, souls and the impurities that grip them are eternal, just as God who stands forever unchanging is eternal.

  மும்மலங்களால் கட்டுண்டு கிடக்கும் ஆன்மாக்கள் தங்கள் தலைவனாகிய இறைவனைத் தேடிச் சென்று அடைவதில்லை.

  Souls bound by the three impurities do not, on their own, seek out and reach their lord, God.

  ஆனால் இறைவன் யாரென்று அறிய முயன்று அவனைப் பலவழிகளிலும் தேடிச் சென்று அடைந்தால், ஆன்மாக்களிடமிருந்து மும்மலங்களும் விலகிவிடும்.

  But if one strives to know who God is and seeks and reaches him by the many paths, then the three impurities fall away from the soul.
