  தான் ஒரு அந்தணன் என்று பெயரை மட்டும் கூறிக்கொண்டு, சிவபெருமானிடம் அன்பும் சிவனைப் பற்றிய அறிவும் ஒழுக்கமும் இல்லாத அந்தணன்,

  A brahmin who only claims the name, holding no love for Shiva, no knowledge of Shiva, no conduct,

  திருக்கோயிலில் சிவபெருமானுக்குப் பூஜைகள் செய்தால்,

  if he performs the worship of Shiva in the temple,

  அக்கோயில் உள்ள நாட்டில் உள்நாட்டுக் கலகங்களும் வெளிநாட்டுப் போர்களும் நடக்கும்.

  the land where that temple stands will suffer internal strife and wars from outside.

  அந்நாட்டில் கொடிய நோய்களும் விவசாய நிலங்களில் ஒன்றும் விளையாமல் பஞ்சமும் உண்டாகும் என்று எமது குருவாய் இருக்கும் இறைவன் எடுத்துரைத்தான்.

  And that land will suffer harsh diseases and famine, with nothing growing in its farmlands, declared God, who stands to us as guru.
