இனிமையான தேனைச் சுவைக்க ஆசைகொண்ட வண்டுகள், தேனை மகரந்தத்திற்குள் வைத்திருக்கும் தேன்மலர்களை வாசனையின் மூலம் கண்டறிந்து அவற்றின்மேல் உட்கார்ந்து, மகரந்தத்திற்குள் இருக்கும் தேனை உறிஞ்சிக் குடித்து இன்பம் அடையும். அதுபோலவே, உடலுக்குள் உயிராக நிற்கும் இறைவனை அறிய விரும்பாமல், உலகத்து ஆசைகளை அனுபவிக்க விரும்பும் உயிர்கள், அவற்றை அனுபவிக்கும் வழிகளைத் தேடிச்சென்று வினைக் காரியங்களைச் செய்து அனுபவித்துச் சிற்றின்பம் அடையும். பகலில் காட்சிகளைக் காட்டும் சூரிய ஒளியாகவும், இரவில் காட்சிகளைக் காட்டும் சந்திர ஒளியாகவும், பகலும் இரவும் காட்சிகளைக் காணும் கண்ணின் ஒளியாகவும் இருக்கும் இறைவன், உலக இன்பத்தில் திளைத்திருக்க விரும்பும் உயிர்கள் காணும் காட்சியில் இருப்பானே தவிர, அவர்களின் உணர்வுகளில் இருக்க மாட்டான்.
Bees that desire to taste sweet honey find, by their fragrance, the honey-bearing flowers that hold that sweet honey within their pollen, settle upon them, suck up the honey within the pollen and drink it, and so attain pleasure. In the same way, living beings who do not wish to know God, who stands as the soul within the body, but who desire instead to experience worldly pleasures, go in search of the means to experience them, perform deeds of karma, experience them, and attain only a small pleasure. God, who is the sunlight that shows sights by day, the moonlight that shows sights by night, and the light of the eye that beholds sights both day and night, exists only within the very sight that living beings who wish to remain immersed in worldly pleasure see; he does not dwell within their inner feeling.
