From where he stands, the sun sends out its rays to all ten directions, north, north-east, east, south-east, south, south-west, west, north-west, above and below, and by the light that comes of them makes everything perceptible. In the same way, God too dwells as the soul within the body of every living being, and it is he who makes everything perceptible. Living beings do not know this truth. It is a wonder indeed that the people of this world, who are born again and again in this world and, even after seeing everything God shows them, still fail to realize him, and who watch everything that is born, just as they themselves were born, die around them, yet fail to realize that death will come to them too one day, only to try to come to know God alongside other such people at the very moment of their own death, when it is too late to realize it any sooner.
