While the lamp still stands, they cry out that death has taken away the light that was in it. They do not know that the flame which is the life stopped only because the oil, which is the deeds, was spent. The people of this world, who do not grasp that after each morning that dawns the night comes and it turns to darkness, wail in grief for the one who has died. Not knowing that where there is birth there is death, they set their desire on the world's attachments, take the impermanent body to be permanent, and grieve.
