தேன் நிறைந்த வாசனை மிக்க மலர்களைத் தன் கூந்தலில் சூடியிருக்கும் மனையாளும், சம்பாதித்த செல்வங்களும் சொத்துக்களும், அவன் இருந்த ஊரிலேயே தங்கிவிட, அவன் மட்டுமே பாடையில் ஏற்றப்பட்டு, ஊருக்குப் பொதுவாக வெளியில் இருக்கும் சுடுகாட்டுக்குக் கொண்டு செல்லப்படுகிறான். அங்கே அவனுடைய குழந்தைகளும் சுற்றத்தாரும் அன்பு கலந்த சோகத்தோடு அவனுடைய உடலைப் பாடையிலிருந்து இறக்கி, சுடுகாட்டில் வைத்து எரித்துவிட்டோ புதைத்துவிட்டோ, அங்கிருந்து அகன்று சென்றுவிடுகிறார்கள்.
