This is one of the most experiential verses in Kandhar Anubhuti. Calling Murugan the imperishable nectar, the spear-bearing king, and the very source of wisdom, Arunagirinathar asks whether what he has experienced can even be put into words. He describes his own sense of "I" as if swallowed up by Murugan, leaving only a bare state of being that remains standing on its own. This points to a moment where the ordinary sense of self dissolves and only the deeper truth remains. Traditional commentators have reached for many analogies to describe such a union, but the verse itself insists that language cannot fully capture it, which is exactly why it ends with a question rather than a claim.
