இப்பாடலில் அருணகிரிநாதர் தன் இல்லற வாழ்வைக் குறித்து ஒரு மென்மையான குறையை முன்வைக்கிறார். "இல்லே" என்று சொல்லப்படும் மாயையான இவ்வுலக வாழ்வில் என்னை நீயே கொண்டு விட்டாய், ஆனால் அறியாமையால் நான் செய்யும் தவறுகளை நீ பொறுத்துக் கொள்ளவில்லையே என்று வருந்துகிறார். In this verse Arunagirinathar raises a soft complaint about his own household life. He says Murugan placed him within the illusion called worldly life, yet did not spare him from the mistakes born of his own ignorance. That line can be read two ways, either as a gentle accusation that Murugan did not tolerate his faults, or, in an alternate reading favored by some commentators, as saying Murugan could not bear to watch him suffer and so came to his aid directly. Both readings exist side by side in tradition, so it is honest to hold both rather than insist on one. The closing lines turn warm again, picturing the twelve-shouldered Murugan wearing the devotee's own words like an ornament, a lovely image of how humbly the Lord receives a devotee's simple verses.
