இப்பாடலின் முதல் இரண்டு அடிகள் ஒரு மிகவும் மனித உணர்வுடன் தொடங்குகின்றன; சாவின் தருணத்தில் தன் சுற்றத்தார் "கூகா" என்று அழுது புலம்பும் காட்சியை அருணகிரிநாதர் கற்பனை செய்கிறார். ஆனால் பாடல் அந்த அச்சத்திலேயே நிற்கவில்லை; "போகா வகை" என்ற சொற்றொடர் மூலம், அப்படி வெறுமனே அச்சத்துடன் கடந்துபோகாமல் இருக்கும்படி முருகன் மெய்ப்பொருளைப் பேசி அருள் செய்ததை நன்றியுடன் நினைவுகூர்கிறார். இங்கே மரணத்தை உடல் ரீதியாகத் தவிர்ப்பதைப் பற்றி அல்ல, மாறாக மரணத்தின் முன் நிற்கும்போது கூட மனம் அஞ்சாமல் தெளிவுடன் இருக்கும் ஞான நிலையைப் பற்றியே பேசப்படுகிறது. The first two lines of this verse open with a very human image, Arunagirinathar picturing the moment of his own death when his relatives would cry out and grieve around him. But the verse does not stay in that fear; the phrase about not simply passing away like that points to gratitude that Murugan spoke the real truth so death would not be met in blind terror. This is less about physically escaping death and more about the mind staying clear and unafraid even as death approaches, because it has already received real understanding. Calling Murugan "the spear-bearer of Nagachalam" ties this verse directly to Tiruchengode, and the closing titles praising him as boundlessly giving and as the crown-jewel of the heavenly world bring the verse to a note of thankful praise.
